Why I’m Launching a Video Editing Course (Even With Less Than 200 Subscribers)
By Celestine Abalaka
July 17, 2025
Six months ago, I dropped out of college to become a full-time YouTuber.
The plan?
Make a few dropout videos.
Get monetized.
Buy an iPhone.
Launch a course.
Retire.
(Hahaha 😂)
Well… “hello, reality”👋🏾 😀
It’s month six.
I haven’t made a dollar online yet.
I still use my Itel S18 Pro to film all my videos (and write this newsletter).
And my iPhone dreams? Still chilling in Wonderland.
But something finally clicked this week…
I used to think I needed 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time to earn my first dollar as a creator.
But that’s not true.
What I really need is this:
👉🏾 A skill I can teach.
👉🏾 A person one step behind me.
👉🏾 A heart ready to serve, not impress.
The Guilt That Pushed Me Forward
I’m not gonna lie — my parents have been my rock since Day 1.
They still send me foodstuff. Sometimes even urgent ₦2k.
But every time they support me, I feel a knot in my stomach.
Like I’m wasting their resources.
Like I’m falling behind in life.
Like I should have “figured it out” by now.
Sound familiar? 😜 😄
I know I’m not the only young creator who feels this way.
A Conversation That Changed Everything
Last week, I had a call with my friend “Enigma.”
She told me how she once taught English to kids abroad — from her tiny room in Nigeria — and got paid for it.
And it hit me:
You don’t need to be 100 steps ahead to help someone. Just one.
That was my greenlight.
Why I’m Launching a Course
I’ve been editing videos for over two years — long before I even started my YouTube channel.
It started with CapCut.
Then came random gigs from my big bro (shoutout to him 🫡)
My first “payment”? 3GB MTN data. I felt rich. 😅
Since then, I’ve practiced, failed, experimented, improved — and now I want to teach everything I’ve learned.
Not because I have it all figured out.
But because I remember what it felt like to start.
Confused.
Broke.
Lost.
Hungry to learn.
And I know there’s a version of me out there right now — stuck with nothing but a dream and a smartphone.
This course is for him.
Then Pelumi Said Something That Shook Me
He sent me a birthday message and said:
“When your course drops on August 5th, no matter the price, I’ll be your first student.”
Not “client”.
Not “customer”.
Not “prospect”.
Student.
That one word changed everything for me.
It reminded me:
I’m not here to sell.
I’m here to teach.
So Here’s the Deal:
This isn’t just another course.
This is the course I wish I had when I started.
📱 Learn to edit professional YouTube videos using just your phone.
🗓 In 7 days or less.
🧠 No fluff. No theory. Just the exact steps I use in my own workflow.
🛠️ Who This Is For:
You want to start a YouTube channel
You have no laptop, just a phone
You can’t afford ₦500k gear (yet)
You’re ready to learn, grow, and take the first step
🎁 Here’s the Offer:
I’m opening 10 early access spots before the public launch.
If you join now for just ₦5,000 (~$3):
You get lifetime access to the full course
Plus 1-on-1 coaching from me
We’ll fix your struggles together (like Avengers-style teamwork 😅)
Spots left: 3
🔴⚠️This course will never be this cheap again🔴⚠️
After August 5th, the price jumps to ₦15,000.
No 1-on-1 coaching. No discount. No looking back.
🚀 How to Join:
Send ₦5,000 to:
Name: Celestine Abalaka
Account: 3202370580
Bank: First Bank
Text your payment proof to:
WhatsApp: 08074436822 (text only)
If the 10 slots are filled, I’ll send your money back.
But if you’re seeing this and you’re serious, don’t sleep on it.
Because this course will change the way you see content creation — and it’ll cost you less than shawarma and Coke in Lagos. 😭
Final Words
I used to think I wasn’t ready.
Now I know:
I’ve always been ready. I just needed the courage to start.
Thank you Enigma.
Thank you Pelumi.
Thank you David — wherever you are.
This course is for you.
Always remember:
Your Dream Life is Closer Than You Think - You Just Need To Go Get It!”

Let's go get this! 💪🏾🫡
